How much does it cost to renew the CITP®|FIBP®?

The annual CITP®|FIBP® dues are CAD $270 plus applicable taxes. All certification fees are not refundable. Visit Maintaining Your CITP Designation to review these requirements in detail. For a complete list of certification fees, refer to the CITP Certification Fee Schedule

My CITP®|FIBP® has expired, but now I want to renew it. What do I need to do?

Certification is valid for a three-year period from the date of certification indicated on your certificate; your current three-year cycle dates can also be viewed in your online account. Submit the CITP Recertification Application form via your online account at least sixty days before your three-year certification period expires. As part of the recertification process, you will need to confirm that your annual CITP dues have been paid and that your certification remains valid and in good standing. Outstanding annual CITP dues will need to be paid in advance of submitting the online recertification form.

Recertification is mandatory for all certificants. If you do not successfully recertify by your expiration date you are no longer certified. If certification is not renewed it will expire on the last day of the month three years after the certification was last earned. Once your certification has expired or been suspended or revoked you may not represent yourself as certified and may not use the credential until you receive official notice that the recertification requirements have been satisfied or that certification status has been reinstated.

If certification has been expired for 365 days or less, you may reinstate by meeting all of the recertification requirements, submitting a complete recertification application, and paying all outstanding CITP required annual dues. If the application is approved, your expiration date for the reinstated credential will be the same as if the certification had been renewed on time.

If certification has been expired for more than 365 days, you must reapply for certification, meet all eligibility requirements in effect at the time of re-application, and pass the examination.

Visit Maintaining Your CITP Designation to review these requirements in detail.

How can I expand my network and connect with other CITPs?

On FITT’s website, you can use the Membership Directory to find CITPs that have opted-in to a certified membership and other members by name, title, company and location. CITPs that have opted-in to a certified membership also have access to the Speakers Bureau, where they can add their name for potential speaking opportunities or look for speakers for events. Note: Membership in FITT, or any other organization, is optional and not required for certification. CITPs can opt-in to a complimentary FITT membership on an annual basis.

I already have the CITP®|FIBP® designation, but I don’t see myself in the Membership Directory. How do I add myself to the directory?

On FITT’s website, you can use the Membership Directory to find CITPs that have opted-in to a certified membership and other members by name, title, company and location. Note: Membership in FITT, or any other organization, is optional and not required for certification. CITPs can opt-in to a complimentary FITT membership on an annual basis.

If you've opted-in to a complimentary certified membership: Due to various privacy concerns, you must manually opt in to be listed in the Membership Directory. To add yourself, first sign in to the FITT website. Once you’ve done so, click FITT Members from the menu on the main part of the screen and My Profile from the resulting dropdown menu. Once you’re there, you’ll see a field where you can write a short bio about yourself, and a list of checkboxes allowing you to control which information is listed in the directory along with your name. You’re free to include as many or as few of those fields as you choose. Once you’re done, just click save at the bottom, and you will appear in the directory.
